HEMS use for STEMI

CCT CORE's main current study effort is directed at assessing the logistics and related benefits accrued with use of air medical transport for STEMI patients. For those patients who are undergoing primary PCI, it is possible that HEMS allows PCI to occur in a more timely fashion than if patients were transported by ground EMS. It's also possible that HEMS availability allows for rural STEMI patients to be eligible for primary PCI, whereas in the absence of HEMS those patients' logistics would preclude their eligibility for primary PCI.

CCT CORE is currently executing a study that attempts to characterize these logistics and related benefits. Anyone with interest in participation is asked to contact for further details.
